The three-piece band is largely credited with reviving popular interest in punk rock in the United States. Their breakout success Dookie sold over 10 million albums in the U.S., and went on to win three Grammy Awards, which is good because now there's one for each of them. Otherwise, bands have to fight over who gets to take home the statue.
All three band members of Green Day have extensive tattoos, which is pretty much a prerequisite if you want to be in a punk rock band. You show up at an audition for Green Day, you better at least have a henna tattoo.
